Flower Market in the Meat Market
This is a cool idea: Moving the flower market from 28th Street in Chelsea, where the wholesalers are getting pushed out by rising rents into the Meat Packing District, where the meat packers are getting pushed out by rising rents. Hmm, didn’t seem that smart of idea as I typed it out. I guess I just like the symbolism of replacing dead animals with not-yet-dead flowers. I love the flower district! But wouldn’t it be incredibly unpleasant to shop for flowers alongside dead, bloodied, mangled animals?
