Intellectual Badass
Anthony points to a NY Times Magazine article which I also found fascinating. The article, Command Swift Objects (don’t worry, the article is better than the headline…), explains how Neal Katyal, a Georgetown law professor, has been instrumental in crafting the arguments against unilateral military imprisonment and tribunals. I had dinner with a friend last night who had him for Criminal Law this past semester. Over sushi, she described him admiringly as an “intellectual badass.”
I love that.
Anyway, do read the article. It’s far out to see how the words of Alexander Hamilton and the writers of the Declaration continue to reverberate at our most important moments. Talk about intellectual badasses. Visionary badasses.
